We are looking for Android OS smartphone users to help us in our research on smartphone usage and interaction for building better interfaces. You will be asked to join our Living Lab and contribute your data via short random surveys appearing on your screen randomly throughout a day for 4 weeks. Once you complete the study, you automatically qualify for a lottery of one (of three) Gift Card (value of 50CHF each).

The QoL team has got two new European H2020 RIA-type research project proposal accepted: Project titled "WellCo: Wellbeing and Health Virtual Coach" as well as "ECoWeB: Assessing and Enhancing Emotional Competence for Well-Being in the Young: A principled, evidence-based, mobile-health approach to prevent mental disorders and promote mental well-being". The Stanford grant is funded via SPOT and is titled "Smartphone Data Identification of Suicidality in Young Men with Bipolar Disorder".

Dec 2012: QoSIS demos - Check the best mobile networking option prescribed for you

As part of the QoSIS, QoL focuses on measurements-based performance evaluation of wireless access networks provided by diverse mobile network operators towards prescribing the best mobile networking option for a given user. The QoL team has developed an Android OS mobile application that uses measurements data provided by the real mobile users living in Geneva area to predict the networks' expected performance. There are measurements data and therefeore predictions available for Swiss operators: Swisscom, Sunrise, Orange CH, as well as French ones: F SFR, Bouygtel and Virgin. The overall study is called mQoL and involves already 30 participants.

Le but de ce projet est de tester et de collecter différentes données par l’intermédiaire d’un téléphone mobile pour différents sous projets réalisés par le groupe QoL, de l’Institut de Science des Services de l’Université de Genève. Ces données seront utilisées afin de comprendre: a) comment l’utilisateur interagit avec le téléphone, b) quelles sont les habitudes (utilisation d’application) de l’utilisateur face à un temps donné et une position, c) comprendre la qualité de réseaux disponibles pour l’utilisateur en fonction de sa position, et d) comprendre les déplacements journaliers de l’utilisateur.
